Course Improvement Blog

Hampton Court Palace Golf Club is undergoing an exciting bunker renovation project, which will dramatically improve the look and challenge of the golf course. The goal is to implement, links-style, revetted bunkers strategically which will better challenge the player both off the tee and around the greens, whilst remaining a fair test of golf. This page will highlight just a few of the holes we are changing, and provide a small taste of the new look of Hampton Court Palace Golf Club.

The 8th

With the new high-faced revetted bunkers, the 8th is a fantastic example of some of the more dramtic bunker you will find at Hampton after the renovation. Whilst more visually impressive, the bunkers will still be incredibly playable and dramatically improve the look of an already pretty hole.

The 17th

By clicking the button below, you can see the design plans for the new bunkering on the front of the 17th from it’s conception. A classic ‘links-style’ par 3, the penultimate hole is an absolute stunner coming to the close of the round.

The 18th

To give an impression of the finished product, here you can see  picture of the approach on the 18th with completed bunker work. The raised lips of the bunkers give a more dramatic look to the hole, making each shot more visually appealing to the golfer. This effect will be replicated throughout the entirety of the golf course, making each round at Hampton one to savour.

“What a classy operation. Super friendly, welcoming and the new facilities look outstanding. The new owners will make such a success of this with their refreshing and community minded endeavours.”
